As the market leader in premium abrasion-resistant coatings, SDC Technologies manufactures a variety of CrystalCoat® coatings and primers for vision corrective lenses and other optical applications. We manufacture tintable and non-tintable coatings in both thermal cure and UV cure formulas. Our CrystalCoat® abrasion-resistant coatings can be applied to all lens substrates. SDC also manufactures high-performance index matched coatings for a variety of mid- and high-index materials.

Sunglasses & Sports Eyewear

CrystalCoat® products are recommended for Sunglasses and Sports Eyewear to improve scratch resistance and product durability. CrystalCoat® products can be used on tinted or clear substrates such as polycarbonate, polyamide, cast resins, acrylic and Trivex. Available globally, our products provide tintability, anti-fog, and premium abrasion resistance for Sunglass and Sports Eyewear applications.

Safety

SDC Technologies manufactures a broad range of CrystalCoat® products for safety applications. To address the current trend for anti-fog coating, SDC Technologies offers a high-performance water sheeting, anti-fog coating and abrasion resistance specifically designed to meet the industry's high standards and testing requirements. We also offer primer-free coatings with a rapid thermal cure.

Automotive & Transit

CrystalCoat® abrasion-resistant coatings can be used in a variety of Automotive and Transit applications including instrument panel windows, bus shelters, rail car and bus windows. CrystalCoat® products can also be used on a variety of materials where scratch resistance, anti-fog properties, or UV protection is desired. Engineered Woods

ResinRelease™ transforms the way engineered woods are manufactured. When applied to metal platens used to manufacture fiberboard, hardwood/plywood, laminated flooring, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), medium density fiberboard (MDF), oriented strand board (OSB), and particleboard, ResinRelease™ provides durable, non-stick functionality that lasts for 2-4 months. ResinRelease™ has been in use for over 20 years, delivering a dramatic improvement in product quality and uptime while reducing costs.

Fabricated Plastic & Metal

In the kitchen and bath industry, our CrystalCoat® products provide an invisible layer of abrasion resistance on fabricated plastics (including acrylic), film, glass and metal surfaces such as stainless steel appliances. Our CrystalCoat® coatings for kitchen and bath products also provide easy clean and antimicrobial functionality as well as fingerprint and smudge resistance.
